Purple Sky

As the weeping willow drapes against the purple sky
Tiny drops of heaven twinkle in my eye
Her leaves droop to skim the waters’ edge
Creating ripples that float and dance against the ledge
Cascading like a fountain, it shadows the horizon’s frame
A silhouette of beauty, against the glow of the sun’s flame
Swaying in the breeze, such graceful motion
Such beauty on earth, God’s gifts touch my emotion
Nature’s wonders ~ treasures of so much worth
True gifts of God’s creations; right here on earth.
As the butterfly’s flutter, as wide as her wings will spread
Against the blue horizon reflected in the sun’s yellows and reds
An amazing array of splendor, true gifts from God to me
Each creation so taken for granted in all of it’s majesty
So flawless in purity, nature’s richness in full bloom
I give thanks to the heavens, as I smile to the silver moon

My Silver Silence

I speak to the silver silence
~ as it wraps
the quietness of my world
I listen to the sound
of my heartbeat
As the clouds
~ around my head swirl
I search to untangle
my web of reasons
And the flowers
refuse to dance
I blow a kiss
to the moonlight
In hopes
he will take a chance
~ to glow in my shadow
of hopefulness
To unveil
the sunshine of my soul
To show me the path
of my destiny
To reveal my heart,
as one, as whole
Come take me with you
Far beyond the silver sky
Take me to a love of forever
Where I will find
my wings to fly

The emptiness of space

When you feel the emptiness of space
He left behind in his room
When you hear the echo of his laughter
Reminding you of yesterday too soon
Do not despair in sadness
~ let not your tears make you weep
For he will never entirely leave you
Your hearts are bonded ~ complete
Do not linger in empty sadness,
~ Only in the beauty of the memories he gave

The color of your life
Is in the rainbow
 that touches the sky
It's in the lyrics
of the songbird
Whispering a lullaby
It’s in the silken touch
of velvet wings
Enfolded
 in the heart of a rose
It’s in each glorious
 moment of beauty
watching a baby grow
So when the morning opens tomorrow
and the sunlight spreads her day
Let your heart live for each moment
On the path before you

Anointed and Blessed

Anointed and blessed in the name of our Lord
Swaddled and bathed in His love
Her heart wrapped in loves protection
She is blessed from God above.
His hands will be her strength in guidance
His voice ~ whispering harmonic sounds
He will lead her, care for and love her
~ God’s little miracle He so defined
As she makes her garden of beauty
In the flowerbed, beneath the trees
She will linger in a world of magic
Beneath the stars, in the sun and the breeze
As you bless her life in God’s presence
Our prayers will whisper her name
Her wings flutter in the sunlight
As in baptism she is proclaimed.

Blessing of a child

Of all the many blessings God created
There is none so wondrous
~ as the gift of a child
A creation so overwhelming
God’s miracle ~ upon you He has smiled
More precious than life itself
So cherished ~ so adored
To watch him as he breathes,
moves his fingers
Is to see life, like never before
Love takes on a whole new meaning
As you feel him as part of your soul
Pouring sunshine into every moment
The purest blessing God can ever bestow
And as his wings flutter
in the sunlight
And his softness slumbers in sleep
You’ll thank God
for every breath he whispers
For every tiny teardrop he weeps
